We are fortunately born in this rapidly-developing era. China, as an Oriental Dragon, has been awakened and forged ahead at an unprecedented speed. It seems that we exactly usher in this era, and we are full of passion and fighting spirit...Maybe we are still young, but we cherish our own thoughts. Maybe we have insufficient experience, but we have unswerving perseverance. Perhaps the society looks down upon us, but we will give full play to the ability to prove who is hero of this era! Kevin Mo’s Self-introduction to Business History
From the start of my career, I have already experienced several life-changing processes. In the first venture, I thought I could apply what I learned to change Chinese people’s living environment. Later, the company ran well, but it fell short of my wish. Then I sold this company to others.
I was ever constantly thinking about how I should do. So I shifted to design education which was my second venture. Therefore, I kept visiting many domestic universities. I exchanged my design experience with design majors, and instructed them the essence of design, approaches to planning for the future and designers’ social responsibility. I ever believed that I was able to slowly change the people around me with my thoughts in this way, and help more future designers absorbed in my thoughts to realize my dream in the end. Unfortunately, I “failed” once again. In face of market competition, my disciples failed to say no to their bosses’ pursuit of profits. So they were impossible to roll down effective and suitable designs to meet the needs from different customers.
In the end, I worked hard for my third venture. I began to kick off “Chinese Interior Design Resource Integration Plan”. I started to support those visionary enterprises and infused them with my design thoughts. I also requested these enterprises to provide a favorable design environment for designers, on the hope that such business owners would also have my thoughts. But I found that things went contrary to my wishes. Although supported companies prospered, finally I served as “Director” of many companies.
In order to realize my dream, I am “forced” to run a company. I decide to run my own company because this is the only way I can fully control all aspects of the company, provide a platform to inspire designers and establish an enterprise platform to my disciples and designers with dreams. Meanwhile, I also begin to develop unique management mode of the company. All new employees must share the same corporate philosophy with us, and must also agree with our company's core values. If anyone disagrees with such core values, he/she has no any opportunity to join us regardless of talents. I start to set up a startup platform for designers with dreams, and completely introduce my own business management mode and core system because this is the only way I can truly achieve the design reform. This is very tiring, but I am optimistic with hope. So I must make my company No.1 in the industry, and set up branch offices everywhere in China so that Chinese people find “KEVIN DESIGN” around every place and really get wise to the charm and value of design. The plan is entitled “World of Great Design.” Currently, KEVIN DESIGN has unique “DNA”, with superiority over other rivals. Unparallel management mode, design, management, engineering, service and material systems of “KEVIN DESIGN System” take a lead in the whole industry. It will try its best to achieve perfection, and give the best guidance for all venturing designers so that they can inherit the essences of KEVIN DESIGN rather than simply copy. Of course, many aspects are in need of modification. But I believe KEVIN DESIGN will get better and better because “Design Changes the Future” is firmly believed…
